14624 1/144 VC-137 USAF Freedom One w/2 options
At the dawn of the jet age the B-707 was among the most advanced aircraft of the era. Commercial 707 aircraft types were bought by the United States Air Force and used for priority transport of high-value material and VIP transportation. Later versions of these colorful aircraft operated by the First Airlift Squadron of the 89’Th Air Wing Andrews AFB.
This new kit offers markings representing the aircraft used to return the diplomatic staff taken hostage in Tehran after the Islamic Revolution. These two aircraft were designated “Freedom 1” while in transit returning the hostages first to Germany then to the Andrews AFB in January 1981.
This kit includes markings for the following kits:
USAF VC-137C, Iran Hostage Rescue Return, January 1981.
USAF VC-137C, Iran Hostage Rescue Return, 27 January 1981.
