Yamato "Big Guns"

In 1941 The Imperial Japanese Navy completed Yamato and Musashi two of the largest Battleships ever built. They displaced a record breaking 72,000 tons and carried nine 18Ó naval guns. Yamato and Musashi were the pride of the Japanese Imperial Navy throughout WWII. The Musashi succumbed to air attack in late 1944. The Yamato was sunk in April 1945 during one of the last major naval battles of WWII.

Minicraft Models offers beautiful 1/2000 scale collectable replicas of these historic battleships. Each model includes a clear plastic display case and display stand. The fully painted decorated and assembled models represent the ships as they appeared at key points though their years of service in WWII. The models demonstrate the evolution of anti-aircraft defensive armament as air attacks became an increasing threat. The models represent the ships in 1941 early service configuration, the Yamato in early 1944 and Yamato and Musashi in late 1944 and the Yamato as the ship appeared during the last engagement in 1945.
